As I read “Salinger,” I’m distracted by questions: What’s been truly verified? What’s a shrewd guess? What’s been made up out of thin air?
If one account can be broken into, what about other accounts? If one episode sanctions such a break-in, which other episodes might be adequate grounds? And if email can be examined, then what other files and mail are available for surveillance?
Once our basic needs are met, what do we value most? The answer is surprisingly similar across the globe.
The final act has yet to be written. Will the story end in triumph or tragedy?
Justice, freedom and high ethical standards are supposed to be the hallmarks of the United States. But Harvard’s Howard Gardner says we’re no longer delivering on those ideals.
